Nature and Hiking Trails

People interested in seeing Burnett County on foot can visit Crex Meadows Wildlife Area, Danbury's Lake 26 Park, Gandy Dancer Trail, Governor Knowles State Forest, Grantsburg Memory Lake Park, Ice Age Trail, Northwest Passage Trail, Sandrock Cliff, Timberland Hills and Webb Lake Ski Trail. ATV Trails

  • From December 1 to March 31, ATVs can be driven on snowmobiling trails that are marked for ATV use.
  • From April 1 to November 30, ATVs can be driven on the Gandy Dancer Trail north of Hwy. 77 but not south of the road.
  • After May 30, ATVs can be used on county forest land, but only on trails. Some of the trails go onto private land which is not open to ATV use.
  • ATV use is prohibited when emergency fire regulations are in place or when the Department of Natural Resources fire danger is posted at red flag alert.

Ski Trails

Twenty-five miles of trails offer wonderful cross country skiing opportunities for all skill levels.

  • Brandt Pines Trails on Memory Lake, 14 km intermediate trail
  • Grantsburg Trail, on Memory Lake, 10.5 km outside loop
  • Sandrock Cliff Trail, west Grantsburg off of State Road 70, 8 km beginner and intermediate trail
  • Timberland Hills Trail, town of Roosevelt, 24 km, multi-loop trail with one stretch lighted for night-skiing
  • Webb Lake Trail, Webb Lake, 7km of groomed trails, easy to moderate

Snowmobile Trails

Horse Trails
